I love French Toast - sweet, little bit of crunchy, lot of gooey inside, smothered with you favourite sauce or fruit - there's something just a little bit decadent, a little bit naughty......
Ingredients
(per 2 serves)
1 1/2 cm thick slices of Pane di Casa (or similar)
3/4 cup Milk
1 large Egg
1 teaspoon Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Bean Paste
A good pat of butter for frying
How to?
Thoroughly whisk egg, milk, sugar and vanilla in a wide, shallow bowl. Heat butter on a medium to high heat in a fry pan. Soak the bread in the egg mix on either side and place in fry pan. Fry on either side until slightly crisp. Serve immediately.
